Denise L. Hunt, C.P.A.
Denise joined the firm in 2001. In 2003, she graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. Denise became a licensed C.P.A. in 2007. She prepares individual and business tax returns, performs audits, compilations, and reviews of financial statements. Denise is also responsible for Information Technology at the firm. Denise, a Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor, also assists clients with accounting software and payroll issues. She is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Sharon L. Varner, C.P.A.
Sharon became an associate in 2002. Her primary responsibilities are income tax preparation, and financial statement audits, reviews and compilations. She has particular expertise in working with special districts, not-for-profit organizations, retailers, and construction contractors. Sharon is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Regis University in 1999. Sharon has been a licensed C.P.A since 2003.
Elizabeth L. Nugent, C.P.A.
Liz became a member of the firm in 2004. She performs financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations. She specializes in audits for Employee Benefit Plans. Elizabeth has extensive experience working with farmers, homeowners associations, and not-for-profit organizations. She also prepares tax returns for individuals and businesses. Liz received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in 2003 from the University of Northern Colorado. She is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Liz became a C.P.A. in 2010. Liz is a Member of the QuickBooks ProAdvisor® Program. She is also a member of Business Networking International (Fort Fun Chapter of Northern Colorado).
Jaime A. Heveron, C.P.A.
Jaime specializes in performing reviews of financial statements. She is also responsible for preparing individual, business and trust tax returns. In addition, she assists with other attestation services and performs monthly financial services for a variety of small business clients. Jaime began working for Hunt, Spillman & Associates, p.c. in 2005 and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Northern Colorado in 2003. Jaime is an associate member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Fort Collins Rotary Club.
Michelle L. Bellows
Michelle, a long time client, joined the firm in 2009. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in History from Colorado State University in 2007. She assists the professional staff with tax preparation and financial statement compilations. Michelle is currently enrolled in the Masters of Accountancy program at Colorado State University.
Ellen B. Gooden
Ellen has been our Office Manager since 1986. Her friendly efficiency supports the professional staff as well as all of our clients. Her responsibilities include daily administrative duties as well as tax return processing.
Jill Copper
Jill joined our team 2009. She assists Ellen and our professional staff by performing various office duties.
